With a team of experienced eye specialists and state-of-the-art equipment, we offer comprehensive eye exams, vision correction, laser treatments, and surgical procedures.
Jaipur Calgary Charitable Eye Hospital & Research Centre Trust was established on 15th April,1982. The main purpose of the Trust was to to establish an eye hospital & research Centre which may provide all ophthalmological services to poor and needy persons. The Hospital came into existence as a result of goodwill gesture from Mayor of Calgary who visited Jaipur in 1978. Though the Hospital started from 15th August, 1984 yet its modern form in the present building came into existence on 15th August,1986. In the construction and equipping of the hospital, major contribution has been of Operation Eyesight Universal. Rajasthan Govt. and various Social organizations like Rotary Club, Lions Club, Chambers of Commerce, other Trusts and individual donors from Rajasthan, West Bengal, Assam, Karnatka and Maharashtra. All have contributed. The State Govt. of Rajasthan went to the extent of allotting 10 acres of land free of charge.
The Hospital has been a standing monument of brother-hood of the people of Calgary and Jaipur. Though the name of the Hospital is Jaipur Calgary Eye Hospital yet it is commonly and popularly known as Calgary Eye Hospital.
01. The Hospital is running a Vitreo Retinal Unit in which services of two trained Retinal Surgeons are available. The unit is equipped with Green Laser & DORC Viterectomy machine, high end operating microscope, OCT & Fundus Camera, B-Scan. The Hospital has also started a Pediatric Squint Clinic, which is run by a Specialist Surgeon. Patients are treated with exercises and if necessary by Surgery.
02. We have also set up a Corneal Clinic. Services of a trained surgeons are available. Keratoplasty ( transplantation of eye) is also done. Recently we have also purchased an important machine of this unit i.e. Pantechem machine. It is useful instrument for better diagnosis and treatment & also purchased C3R machine which is useful for corneal surgery.
03. The Specialist services, procedures & surgeries are conducted at subsidized rates keeping in view the charitable nature of our organization. State of art surgery is done in respect of cataract & other diseases with excellent results.
04. We are also running a Glaucoma Clinic threin Auto Field Analyzer has been available alongwith OCT machine. A non-contact tonometer has also been installed.. The patients are being benefitted by the services of a specialist surgeon. We are also running a contact lens clinic.
05. An innovative clinic – Low Vision Clinic has been recently set up in the Hospital. This clinic helps the patients who are near blind but have not lost full sight with the aid of specialised equipment/instruments. They are taught to learn & live a better visible life.
4. The field of ‘Eye Care ‘ was chosen by these visionaries and ‘ Jaipur Calgary Charitable Eye Hospital & Research Centre Trust’ was founded and registered.
5. Jaipur Calgary Eye Hospital aims to provide comprehensive eye care with facilities available for all required ophthalmic services under one roof with an expert panel of doctors, the latest equipment, surgical units, alongwith low vision care centre, contact lens clinic, orbital prosthetics and occuloplasty facility.
6. Predominantly, the hospital also specialized in Cornea Transplantation ( keratoplasty ) and has successfully restored vision in many cornea blind patients. Paediatric Ophthalmology and correction of vision through Lasik Lazer surgery have also been done.
In November 1978, when the 250th Foundational Anniversary of Jaipur City was celebrated with fanfare, the concept of twin city between Jaipur (Rajasthan) and Calgary (Canada) for philanthropy work was conceptualised.
The noted social worker of Jaipur, Late Prof. T.K.N. Unnithan and Late Shri Bhanwar Lal Baid, along with their team, discussed the proposal with the Mayor of Calgary, who was in Jaipur for the celebration of the foundation's anniversary. The field of 'Eye Care'was chosen by these visionaries and 'Jaipur Calgary Charitable Eye Hospital & Research Centre Trust'was founded and registered.
The Government of Rajasthan supported this mission and land was allotted in Malviya Nagar. Since then the hospital has been growing increasingly as an Eye Care Speciality Centre.
This hospital is the first eye care hospital in Rajasthan with foreign collaboration. I also appreciate the efforts of my predecessors Late Prof. T.K. N. Unnithan, Late Shri Ram Chandra Kasliwal, Maharaja jai Singh of Jalpur and Justice S.N.Bhargava who took special pains in developing and improving the hospital. I wish the hospital establishes itself as a benchmark in providing state-of-the-art services in eye care, not only in Rajasthan but pan-India.
India has the highest blind population in the world, the major cause of which is cataracts. In 1976, India launched a national programme for controlling blindness and visual impairment. Jaipur Calgary Eye Hospital & Research Centre (JCEH) was conceived immediately after this launch to provide affordable eye healthcare to the marginalized sections of society. Since then, the hospital has organized integrated programmes to fight cataracts, glaucoma and other ophthalmic diseases, particularly in rural areas.
JCEH aims to provide comprehensive eye care with facilities available for all required ophthalmic services under one roof with an expert panel of doctors, the latest equipment, surgical units, along with low vision care centre, contact lens clinic, orbital prosthetics and Occuloplasty facility. Predominantly, the hospital also specializes in Cornea Transplantation (Keratoplasty) and has successfully restored vision in many cornea blind patients. Paediatric Ophthalmology and correction of vision through Lasik laser surgery will be introduced very soon.
A periodic eye check-up programme is being conducted in various schools of the city and surrounding areas. Any disease or impaired vision among the school children is treated free of cost by the expert panel of doctors in the hospital. This programme is even more relevant in times when the screen time of children has increased because of the online classes.
The Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra, within the hospital premises, also benefits patients in getting medicines at a substantially discounted price.

जयपुर कैलगिरी आई हॉस्पिटल इस कथन की पुष्टि पूर्ण रूप से करता है। दशकों से हमारी संस्था में आँखों से सम्बन्धित सभी रोगों के लिए उत्कृष्ट सेवायें प्रदान की जाती है। संस्था से जुड़े सभी उच्च शिक्षित विशेषज्ञ एवं अनुभवी कर्मचारी यहाँ पर परामर्श के लिए आये सभी तबके के रोगियों का निदान नवीनतम तकनीकों द्वारा आधुनिक उपकरणों से करते हैं।
सन् 1984 में इस संस्था की स्थापना के बाद से अब तक लगभग 26 लाख रोगियों को परामर्श दिया जा चुका है एवं 1.50 लाख आँखों के सफल ऑपरेशन सम्पन्न किये जा चुके हैं। प्रत्येक वर्ष 1 लाख लोगों की आँखों की सम्पूर्ण जाँच की जाती है एवं 6000 से ज्यादा आँखों का ऑपरेशन किया जाता है। इतनी बड़ी संख्या में यहाँ मरीजों का आना एवं ऑपरेशन कराना उनका इस संस्था के प्रति विश्वास और रुझान दर्शाता है। कई पीढ़ियों से यही विश्वास कायम है। इस आशातीत सफलता का सम्पूर्ण श्रेय इस संस्था के निःस्वार्थ सेवाभावी ट्रस्टीज, समस्त कर्मचारीगण एवं अनुभवी नेत्र चिकित्सकों को जाता है।
यह एक नॉन-प्रॉफिट संस्था है जिसने निरन्तर हर वर्ष अपनी सुविधाओं में विस्तार किया है। वर्तमान में पूर्ण वातानुकूलित किटाणु रहित आधुनिक ऑपरेशन थियेटर प्रचलित है जो नवीन माइक्रोस्कोप एवं मशीनों से सुसज्जित है। मोतियाबिन्द सहित हर प्रकार के आँखों से सम्बन्धित रोगों का ऑपरेशन यहाँ बड़ी तादाद में नियमित रूप से होता है। इससे जुड़ी सभी प्रकार की आँखों एवं शरीर की जाँच यहाँ पूर्ण रूप से उपलब्ध है। सही मायने में जयपुर कैलगिरी आई हॉस्पिटल आँखों से सम्बन्धित हर इलाज के लिये "One Stop Destination" है।
